Housing Services

Advance Housing recognizes that locating quality, affordable housing in a highly priced private rental market is difficult. As a result, the agency is committed to expanding its supply of affordable housing through various funding mechanisms. In most instances, the quality of housing that the agency acquires far exceeds what consumers can find in the private rental market.

Advance Housing has significant experience in the provision of housing for consumers, including leveraging funds, identifying successful sites, bringing projects to closing, and overall operations. Housing has been obtained in a wide variety of locations, including garden apartments, developments or mid-rise apartment buildings throughout Bergen County. Housing has been developed with funds from a variety of sources, including HUD Section 811 and McKinney SHP, the DMHS Capital Program, Bergen County Community Development, Corporation for Supportive Housing, NJ Community Loan Fund, Alliance for the Mentally Ill – Bergen County, Sussex County, as well as private contributions. Shown Below are some examples of properties that the agency owns and operates.

Advance Housing provides all fiscal and facilities management for its properties including interaction with condominium associations. Clients pay 30% of their income to the agency as a rental expense. In addition, the agency is skilled at helping consumers with Section 8 to locate and secure affordable housing.
